Mathematics stream

Mathematics at Richelieu Lyceum is not just a subject. It’s the foundation of foundations, the queen of all subjects. It’s impossible to explain the modern world without Mathematics. Our pupils have known this simple truth for a long time.

The Mathematics stream at our school is made up of classes with specialized Maths and IT curriculums. These two subjects go hand in hand as Maths and Logic is the basis for successfully studying IT. Starting from 8th grade, our pupils learn about programming language Pascal and write their own code.

Pupils in this stream don’t just follow specialized Maths and IT curriculums, they’re also taught Physics at an advanced level. The curriculums were developed by our leading teachers. They have spent many years teaching gifted children using unique innovative techniques that help to unleash every child’s potential. Besides following their main curriculum, our pupils are also offered a wide range of specializes extracurricular courses in Maths, IT and Economics taught by lecturers from Odessa universities. These are conducted on Saturdays so our pupils will never get bored.

Alumni of the Mathematics stream are future scientists, programmers, economists and entrepreneurs. Our pupils constantly win first places at regional Maths and IT olympiads. They also perform well at “Kangaroo” and “Beaver” competitions. Remarkably, participation in olympiads and tournaments don’t only increase subject knowledge of our pupils, it also help them develop important traits like determination and perseverance.
